ABSTRACT
Bat tend to mammals from ordo Chiroptera, which has ability to fly and get their head upside down while asleep. Furthermore, differences of esophagus layer needs specific inervation system which control motility and peristaltic of esophagus muscle that has difference than other species. This study was use 5 bat esophagus. The esophagus divide into 3 parts, upper side, middle side, and lower side. Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphat Diaphorase (NADPH-d) histochemistry staining were used to inspected to knows the presence of neuron nitrergic. The difference of total nitrergic in each parts analyzed with One Way Varian Analyst (ANOVA) that continued by Post Hoc test Benferroni Tukey. Neuron nitrergic with ganglion, cell body and fibrous were found in bat esophagus and looks like net. Ganglion arranged by 1-36 cell bodies. The cell body is oval to round and has a nucleus. Distribution of neuron nitrergic is not same at 3 parts. There is significant different at upper and lower side or middle and lower side, but don’t have any significant different at upper and middle side.
